What can go in a dumpster?
Almost everything that comes out of a house, a yard or a job site can go in a Javi's Dumpster Services dumpster: furniture, mattresses, boxes, carpet, drywall, lumber, shingles, branches and remodel debris. Concrete, dirt and heavy material go in the 10 yard. What cannot go in is what the landfill refuses: tires, batteries, paint, oil, propane, asbestos and hazardous waste. What is allowed in a roll-off dumpster?
The rental terms put it in one line: construction and demolition debris, household waste, and yard debris. In practice that covers nearly everything a cleanout, a remodel or a storm produces. Mattresses, box springs, couches and furniture are all fine in the box; people ask because some haulers refuse them, and Javi's does not.

How does the concrete rule work?
Concrete, dirt, brick, block and similar heavy debris are accepted in the 10 yard at no additional charge, loaded no higher than the marked fill line. In a 15 yard or larger, the same material carries a $150 handling charge, and the box still must not be loaded past the fill line. The reason is weight: a large box filled with concrete or dirt weighs more than the truck can safely lift and more than the road allows, so heavy debris goes in a 10 yard loaded partway, below the marked fill line, rather than a big box loaded full. If the whole job is concrete, Javi's concrete removal breaks it up and hauls it at $1.50 to $2.00 per square foot instead.

The allowed list splits by weight, and the split decides the box.

What is not allowed?
This is the exact list from the rental terms. Everything on it is refused because the landfill refuses it, not because Javi's is being difficult; a prohibited item found at the scale gets the whole load turned away.

What about appliances?
Household appliances are not permitted in the roll-off. Refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, stoves, dishwashers and water heaters need separate handling, and Javi's junk removal and appliance removal handle them: the crew carries them out and hauls them, and it can be added to any dumpster rental so the box takes the debris and the truck takes the appliances on one visit. Tires go the same way.
What about paint, chemicals and electronics?
Paint, solvents, oil, gasoline, pool chemicals, propane tanks and vehicle batteries cannot go in; the terms list petroleum products, flammable and volatile liquids, acids and caustics, and hazardous waste by name. County household hazardous waste programs exist for exactly these items; check your county's site for drop-off days and locations, because the rules and hours change and are not published here. Sealed containers and drums are refused too, whatever is inside.
How do I load it so I am not charged extra?
Three things. Keep every load below the marked fill line, because anything above it costs $150 and the driver may refuse a box he cannot tarp legally. Keep the weight inside the allowance, 1 ton on a 10 yard up to 4 tons on a 40, or the difference is $83 per ton; heavy material in the small box is the whole trick. Questions people ask
Can I put a mattress in a dumpster?
Yes. Mattresses, box springs, couches and furniture are accepted in the roll-off.
Can I put a refrigerator or washer in a dumpster?
No. Household appliances are not permitted in the roll-off. Book junk removal or appliance removal and the crew hauls them, on the same visit as the box if you like.
Can I put paint or oil in a dumpster?
No. Paint, oil, solvents, gasoline and other flammable or hazardous liquids are prohibited. Your county's household hazardous waste program takes them.
Can I put concrete in a dumpster?
Yes: no charge in the 10 yard, a $150 handling charge in a 15 yard or larger, always below the marked fill line.
What happens if I put something prohibited in the box?
The landfill can reject the whole load, which means a second trip and the cost that comes with it. When in doubt, leave it out and call (407) 860-8640.
