What is the real difference?

What can a dumpster not take that junk removal can?
Household appliances are the big one: refrigerators, washers, dryers, stoves and water heaters do not go in the roll-off and do go on the junk removal truck. The crew also takes tires, which are prohibited in the container. Everything else on the prohibited list, such as paint, oil, batteries, asbestos and hazardous waste, is refused by both, because the landfill refuses it. Can I do both on one job?
Yes, and it is common. Junk removal can be added to any dumpster rental: the box sits in the driveway for the remodel, and the crew comes once to clear the heavy furniture and the appliances that cannot go in it. For a whole-house cleanout with no helpers, a box plus a few hours of crew is usually cheaper than a crew doing the entire house from scratch.
